Professor AbuBakr Bahaj, head of Energy and Climate Change Division, is to be awarded Honorary Doctorate from Uppsala University in Sweden.
The honours recognise excellence in science and engineering, opening the door for regular visits and sustained collaboration at one of Europe’s oldest and most renowned universities.
Professor Bahaj comments,
“I am delighted and honoured to receive this prestigious award. Over the last 12 years, I have had close collaboration with the Ångström Laboratory and Engineering at Uppsala. This honour is a recognition of the high calibre work by the extremely talented team working within ECCD. The award will motivate us to engage further with colleague in Uppsala in addressing global engineering challenges facing society today and in the future.”
The scientists are two of five new honorary doctors named by Uppsala’s Faculty of Science and Technology this autumn and their awards will be conferred on 26 January 2018.
